SOLAR parks

How do they work?

Small photovoltaic power stations (50-500 kW) are generally set up by larger businesses, plants, municipal institutions or hospitals, whose consumption makes the installation of such systems worthwhile. In other cases, the purpose of establishing solar parks is to produce electricity at sites where the grid is located nearby and terrain conditions are suitable.

Photovoltaic panels generate direct current from sunlight, which is transformed into analternating current – suitable for home appliances – through an inverter. Electricity can be exported to the national power grid by means of a transformer.

COMPONENTS INCLUDED

Solar parks are usually set up on areas protected with perimeter fences and other security systems. Hundreds or even thousands of panels are installed onto steel mounts with an ideal tilt of 35 degrees. In Hungary – especially in the southern regions of the country – environmental conditions are favourable for creating solar parks.
